Lead Radiologic Technologist - ProHealth Care - 1.0 FTE, Days

ProHealth Care Medical Imaging services are provided at numerous locations throughout Waukesha County including Waukesha Memorial, Oconomowoc Memorial and many of our ProHealth Medical Group Clinic locations.  Services include  General  X-Ray, CT and MRI scanning, Functional MRI, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine and Ultrasound  in both inpatient and outpatient settings.  ProHealth Care partners with some of the most highly trained and skilled radiologists in the country, many of whom focus on advanced subspecialties ensuring the highest quality imaging services for our patients.


The Radiology/Imaging areas use the most sophisticated equipment available including the Discovery PET/CT 690 system. This scanner features advanced technology that can transform the way cancer, neurological disorders and heart disease are diagnosed and treated.  Open and closed MRI, 3D Mammography and Functional MRI are among the many options offered.  Waukesha Memorial Hospital is one of fewer than 1 percent of community-based medical centers in the United States offering the innovative diagnostic technology of Functional MRI.   In addition to the innovative technology, one of our greatest assets is our caring and compassionate technologists who ensure we meet the highest quality care standards every day.

 

Hours: First Shift start times between 6am and 830am with occasional 12-830pm shifts - every 5th weekend and one holiday a year. On-call requirement of approximately 1 night per week at OMH - 30 minute call response time. $3,500 Sign on Bonus

Operate radiographic equipment for diagnostic purposes as directed; perform diagnostic procedures according to established standards and practices. Technologist will be proficient in: general radiology, fluoroscopy procedures, and c-arm/operating room work. 

 

  • Provides in-depth knowledge of imaging techniques and clinical practice for equipment and procedures within the modality practiced.  
  • Consistently demonstrates the ability to produce quality images while serving as a technical resource to staff within their modality.  Will strictly adhere to policies and procedures established within radiology and shall role model the behaviors associated with excellent customer service.  
  • Must have the ability to work at various PHC Radiology locations as needed. 
  • As a modality based specialist, performs the duties of a Technologist monitoring and observing the technical performance of the department on an ongoing basis accomplishes imaging procedures using sound technical judgment and adapts equipment capabilities to the individual patient. 
  • Demonstrates continued improvement and ensures efficient work flow in the modality by monitoring patient start times and keeping patient turnaround time to a minimum.  Identifies staffing needs and develops alternative plans for coverage that focus on patient care and safety. 
  • Investigates and assists in troubleshooting problems, and assures appropriate communication with customers.  Investigates errors, safety issues and clinical quality and participates in the implementation and support necessary for corrective action.  Serves as a role model for organizational mission, vision and values to promote a harmonious work environment. 
  • Responsible for coordinating and standardizing imaging protocols between radiologists and technologists at all sites. 
  • Serve as front line modality representative for patients, referring physicians and outside contacting completing assignments and requests to achieve a positive outcome. 
  • Coordinates the technical training and orientation of new staff. 
  • Performs staff in-service for new equipment and procedures. 
  • Participates is modality based staff meetings as requested.  Act as a subject matter expert in chosen modality. 
  • Provides input and technical analysis for capital budget development as requested.

 

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED and graduate of an AMA approved School of Radiological Technology required.
  • 3 years of expereince preferred 
  • Bachelor's Degree in Radiologic Technology strongly preferred.
  • Radiologic Tech (WI License) & ARRT Registration
  • BLS (CPR) Certification
