Schedule Details: 6pm - 6:30am; 12 hour shifts; every 3rd weekend *Must have an Active RN License and BSN is required
What You Will Do:
We are seeking an efficient and detail-oriented Patient Flow Coordinator to manage patient throughput and bed assignments while ensuring timely and effective care. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with nursing leadership, surgeons, and outpatient departments to optimize patient placement, staffing, and resource allocation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage patient flow and bed assignments following prioritization algorithms.
- Utilize EMR systems to assign beds efficiently and ensure proper documentation.
- Review and provide input on patient placement guidelines and processes.
- Partner with nursing leadership to determine shift staffing strategies.
- Collaborate with surgeons and anesthesiologists to adjust surgical cases based on patient acuity.
- Provide clinical support as needed, including IV starts, patient transport, and procedure assistance.
- Respond to emergencies, deploying appropriate resources like Rapid Response and Ethics teams.
- Offer constructive feedback on staff performance and unit operations at the end of each shift.
- Ensure compliance with patient safety and quality goals, leading performance improvement initiatives.
- Participate in hospital and nursing division leadership meetings and assist in policy planning.
Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of EMR workflows.
- Excellent problem-solving and leadership skills.
- Ability to collaborate across departments and respond effectively to high-pressure situations.
