Pharmacy Technician - Waukesha - Pool/As Needed

Schedule: 8.5 hour shifts. Mixture of Day and PM shifts. This position will be expected to work at all ProHealth Care campus locations.

What You Will Do:

Technicians at the Tier 1 level perform basic pharmaceutical duties and work under the direct supervision of PHC Registered Pharmacists. A tier 1 technician needs to be proficient in basic mathematical and pharmaceutical calculations as well as computer and telephone skills. They will provide accurate, independent work and have the ability to interact well with other healthcare personnel as part of the PHC team. All tier 1 technicians will demonstrate competence in ordering and control of stock, selection of drug product, nonsterile drug preparation, controlled substance handling and pharmacy automated systems. Retail Tier 1 technicians will show proficiency in applicable insurance adjudication, prescription entry, cash handling and inventory control.

 

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • PTCB-recognized education/training program OR 500 hours of equivalent work experience to achieve required CPhT certification within 9 months of hire if full time status, or 12 months of hire for part time status.
  • Completion of a six-month formal training program in technical, non-professional pharmaceutical procedures and practices - OR - six months of work experience in technical, non-professional pharmaceutical procedures and practices.
  • Preferred successful completion of a six-month formal training program in technical, non-professional pharmaceutical procedures and practices – OR – six months of work experience in technical, non-professional pharmaceutical procedures and practices.
  • Hazardous Non-Sterile Compounding is required.
