About Us:

The Heart Care Unit is an amazing and dynamic 31 bed intermediate care unit caring for a range of higher acuity patients including heart failure, arrhythmias, chest pain, open heart surgery, cardiac procedures, stroke, and a variety of other medical conditions. All of our nursing staff becomes ACLS (and participate on the Medical Emergency response team), telemetry, and NIHSS certified. Our unit has a rich history of combining excellent patient satisfaction, technical care and patient outcomes.  We pride ourselves on our Heart Care Unit teamwork, the support we provide to new nurses, clinical advancement and the overall culture of our unit. New Nurses are welcome here!

What You Will Do:

The Nurse Intern collects objective data according to the clinical practice and theory obtained from nursing education and in orientation.  Utilizes this objective data and works under the supervision of the RN in providing nursing care grounded in the ANA standards of nursing practice.  May administer medications under the direct supervision of the RN after completing Pharmacology in school.


The Nurse Intern must be a nursing student entering the final semester of a RN program or an individual having completed a nursing program but not obtained state license.


What You Will Need:

  • Nursing student entering the final semester of RN program or those who have completed a program but have not yet received licensure
  • Currently enrolled in, or a graduate of, an accredited school of nursing
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association; or ability to obtain upon hire
