What You Will Do:

The EAP Counselor I responds to client calls on Empathia’s 24 hour access line, provides telephone assessment, counseling, crisis intervention, resource finding, referral services, behavioral care treatment authorization services and data entry.

 

What you will need:

  • New hires must have master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, educational psychology or human service field.
  • Minimum of one year work experience in one or more of the following; psychiatric services, alcohol and drug abuse treatment facility, residential treatment, telephone counseling, or related human services or counseling areas.
  • Possess crisis intervention problem solving skills; ability to define and assess crisis and put into effect treatment options.
  • Possess active listening skills.
  • Basic computer, clinical writing and documentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills required.
