We are hiring - Podiatry - Full Time

 

Monday - Thursday 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM No weekends No Nights.


This role does require travel to multiple locations including Sussex, Pewaukee and Big Bend Road (Waukesha).

Job Summary

A medical language specialist who transcribes dictation from a physician while in the room with a patient during examinations or procedures.  Within the scope of assigned duties, the scribe is responsible for maintaining quality, productivity, and insures dictation is entered appropriately into the electronic medical record within established time frames. Assist leaders, team members, coding and health information management as it pertains to dictation to achieve department goals.

Responsibilities

Applies knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and English language rules to the transcribing, proofreading, editing of medical dictation from providers of various specialties, accents, dialects and dictation styles.

Recognizes, interprets and evaluates inconsistencies, discrepancies and inaccuracies in medical dictation and appropriately works with provider on edits and revisions. Does not add or detract anything dictated by the provider.

Insures demographic accuracy of documents produced.

Demonstrates professionalism when in the room with a patient having a exam or procedure performed. Recognizes and reports unusual circumstances and/or information with possible risk factors to provider or leadership.

Corrects documents, errors, etc. as assigned or informed by provider.

Uses reference materials and technology appropriately and efficiently to facilitate the accuracy, clarity, completeness and timeliness of health care documentation. Follows established policies, procedures, and training materials for completion of all work and on a consistent basis.

Uses designated equipment effectively, skillfully and efficiently.

Maintains knowledge of all PHC dictation practices an is able to assist physician with dictation procedures and systems as appropriate.

Work with Health Information Management to manage ICD-10 or future ICD upgrades. Performs quality assurance activities to verify accuracy of transcribed documents.

Performs troubleshooting of equipment, contacting IS when needed, maintains equipment and clean working environment. Performs any system testing.

Assists with training and orientation of new employees as needed and directed by leadership.

Performs duties in an independent manner, easily retains new processes and look for things needing to be done and complete the tasks when there is downtime.

Updates and maintains procedures for work performed in areas.

Be willing to offer process improvement suggestions and follow through on new processes or changes.

Demonstrate a willingness to adjust work schedules to meet the needs of the provider clinic schedules.
