Schedule Details: This is a 1.0 FTE position, with a variable start time between 0700 and 0900, and a rotating on call schedule with other lab leaders for after hour schedule support. Supervisory staff generally do not work weekends or holidays, but this could if needed based on clinical operational support needs. Driving between PHC locations for business purposes may be necessary using personal vehicle. 70% admin and 30% bench but that could fluctuate.
About Us:
ProHealth Care offers a system-wide laboratory operation with core hospital labs at Waukesha Memorial and Oconomowoc Memorial as well as two clinic-based laboratory sites in Waukesha County. The laboratory performs over 8 million tests annually.
Our Lab services operate state of the art facilities and include clinical testing in the areas of Histology, Cytology, Hematology, Coagulation, Clinical Chemistry, Urinalysis, Immunoassay, Microbiology, Transfusion service, EIA, and Molecular Biology. ProHealth Care offers a vibrant outreach program, providing laboratory testing to numerous specialty hospitals, physician offices, nursing home, and assisted living facilities. Our Pathologists and PhDs work closely with lab employees to monitor quality, as well as identify, access, and implement new technology. The Laboratory has certification and accreditation through the College of American Pathologists (CAP), American Association of Blood Banks (AABB) and Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act (CLIA).
What You Will Do:
Accountable for directing and coordinating the daily operations and workflow for a defined department within ProHealth Care Laboratories. This role plans, coordinates, assesses and adjusts patient and/or specimen flow; supervises departmental personnel, budget and productivity. Accountable for working as part of the laboratory leadership team to transform organizational goals and values into everyday practice and ensure a culture of patient safety in accordance with ProHealth Care philosophies, policies and procedures. Must have the ability to work at various PHC Lab locations as needed.
Qualifications:
- MT or MLT with supervisory and technical experience preferred
- ASCP MT/MLS or MLT required
- 4-6 years of leadership experience preferred
- Team player, organized, self-starter,
- Excellent communication skills,
- Knowledge of College of American Pathologists (CAP) regulatory requirements.
