Senior IT Security Engineer - ProHealth Care

Location:  Pewaukee
Shift Type:  Days - 1st Shift
Weekly Hours:  40

The PHC Information Technology Division supports our community-focused healthcare system with 15 primary care facilities, 3 hospitals, home health care, hospice services, long term care and senior residence communities, health and a fitness center. We have attained national recognition for our pioneering approach to business intelligence and population health management. We were the first system to use Epic’s Cogito data warehouse in a production environment which afforded our ACO a method for managing their population’s health. We have successfully attested for Stage 1 of meaningful use for our hospitals and physicians, as well as have attained Stage6 designation on the HIMSS Analytics EMR Adoption Model (EMRAM). We continue to be a leader in providing effective technology in support of our organization’s healthcare strategies.

 

Hours: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm with on call rotation.

What You Will Do:

The IT Security Engineer, Sr plays a key role in implementing and running the tools and processes for securing the ProHealth Care IT environment. This includes administering and maintaining a variety of security related tools. Requires a strong focus on implementing IT Security related processes, including risk assessment and embedding security best practices throughout the IT infrastructure.  Should be highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail. Must be comfortable working within a team of people; capable of mentoring and training others and have the ability to communicate with people on all levels of technical knowledge. Must possess strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, and have outstanding, rapid technical comprehension; all while delivering outstanding customer service. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Administer and maintain a variety of security related tools, including antivirus, encryption, security log management, vulnerability scanning, and web content filtering.
  • Lead or participate in the development and implementation of key IT Security related processes, including risk assessment, patch management, security baselines across the IT infrastructure, and security awareness programs. 
  • Stay current with the latest security threats and proactively identify security vulnerabilities.  Provide recommendations and solutions for remediating vulnerabilities.
  • Possess strong knowledge and experience administering and securing Windows based systems including Active Directory group policy management.
  • Possess a working knowledge of networking principles and Linux/AIX/other Unix based systems.
  • Maintain a positive work and team atmosphere by acting and communicating in a professional and timely manner with customers, clients, vendors, partners, co-workers and management.
  • Be recognized as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in one or more technologies.  This means you are the owner of that technology within PHC and are acknowledged as the “go to” person for developing the road map, the design, the implementation, the top support person, and the trainer to others.

 

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree
  • 5 years of experience preferred
  • Proven experience and success with managing security tools, including antivirus, data loss prevention, mobile management, security log management, and/or vulnerability scanning.
  • Experience leading security risk assessments, penetration tests, and implementing security best practices. 
  • SANS or CISSP Certification is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge and experience administering and securing Windows based systems including Active Directory group policy management is preferred, along with a working knowledge of networking principles and Linux/AIX/other Unix based systems.
