Schedule Details: Monday thru Friday, 9am to 5:30pm. On-call rotation for weekends and holidays 

 

What You Will Do:

The Sterile Processing Technician provides appropriate services to all nursing and ancillary departments associated with surgery. This includes preparation, assembly, and sterilization of all reusable supplies and implants as per manufacturer instructions and in accordance with IAHCSMM (International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management), CDC (Center for Disease Control and Prevention), AORN (Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses), AAAHC (Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care), and AAMI (Association of Medical Instrumentation Standards).   

 

  • Demonstrates knowledge of aseptic technique.
  • Communicates information regarding instrumentation, supplies, and equipment to the OR team and appropriate parties in a timely manner.
  • Operates steam cleaning equipment of manual wiping to clean all OR steel carts on a daily basis.
  • Operates, monitors, logs, and cleans all equipment including but not limited to:  steam sterilizers, Sterrad sterilizers, washer disinfectors, heat sealers, ultrasonic washers and tube dryers, all per manufacturer’s instructions and in accordance with above standards and policies.
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of trays and surgical set composition with par levels.

 

What You Need:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
