Job Summary

Functions as a member of the surgical team under the supervision of a registered peri-operative nurse. Is responsible for case cart preparation, sterilization processes and accountability and care of surgical instrumentation and equipement in order to ensure the efficient, cost-effective provision of Center Core services to the Operating Room. The core tech also performs tasks related to supply distribution in the surgery area which includes, but is not limited to: monitoring and maintaining controls of materials by evaluating inventory levels, placing orders when reordering is necessary, receiving, stoocking, distributing and packing as needed. Examines receiving documents for storage destination. Pulls stored materials for orders and moves to wearhouse and or shipping area. Documents information relating to receipt and storage or distribution of materials. Handles material and products to maintain appropriate flow through procedural areas while maintaining integrity of iems. May utilize material handling equipment.

What You Will Do:

You will function as a member of the surgical team under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.  You will be responsible for case cart preparation, sterilization processes and accountability and care of surgical instruments and equipment.  The Core Tech also performs tasks related to supply distribution in the surgery area which includes: monitoring and maintaining controls of materials, placing orders, receiving, stocking, and distributing and packing as needed. 

What You Will Need:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic Life Support Card through the American Heart Association or ability to obtain the card upon hire
  • Surgical Tech, Sterile Instrument Tech, or previous experience preferred
