Schedule Details: Monday - Friday: 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM 

 

What You Will Do:

Using department standards for authorization, insures timely verification of eligibility, obtaining insurance benefits, and ensuring preauthorization for medications are met with technical support to PHC providers and service to patients. 

 

What you will need:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Specialized training/education as pharmacy technician required. Will consider relavent experience in lieu of specialized education/training.
  • Current Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or completion of CPhT within 6 months of date of hire required.
  • At least 2 years of related pharmacy technician experience preferred, will consider less. 
  • Specialized expertise in chronic or long term ambulatory medication needs (typically gained in a retail pharmacy environment).
  • Understanding of necessary documentation needed for efficient and timely processing by external pharmacies.
  • Must be a self-starter who can take initiative.
  • Must be able to work independently, prioritizing and organizing workload effectively to complete tasks within the timeframes.
  • Must be flexible to handle workflow demands and a changing role.
  • Must demonstrate well-developed communication skills – verbal and written.
