Visit RN – Weekend Program – Home Health & Hospice

Looking for a nursing schedule that gives you meaningful time away from work without stepping away from your career? Our Weekend Program offers 12-hour weekend shifts, three weekends on followed by one weekend off, giving you 12 weekends off each year. There is no on-call rotation, and you’ll earn an additional $7/hour weekend shift differential on all hours worked.

As a Visit RN with ProHealth Home Health & Hospice, you’ll provide one-on-one nursing care to Home Health and Hospice patients in their homes throughout Waukesha County and portions of surrounding counties. You’ll have the independence of field nursing with an experienced interdisciplinary team behind you.

Schedule

• 12-hour shifts Saturday and Sunday
• Rotating hours: 8 a.m.–8 p.m., 9 a.m.–9 p.m. or 10 a.m.–10 p.m.
• Three weekends on, one weekend off — 12 weekends off per year

What you’ll do

You’ll travel to patients’ homes throughout Waukesha County and portions of surrounding counties to provide skilled nursing based on each patient’s needs. Care may include comprehensive assessments, medication education and management, wound and ostomy care, injections or IV therapy, patient and caregiver education, and monitoring complex or changing conditions.

For Hospice patients, you’ll provide comfort-focused nursing care, assess and manage symptoms, support patients and families, and collaborate with the Hospice team to help patients remain comfortable in their preferred setting.

You’ll use your assessment and critical-thinking skills to recognize changes in condition, determine appropriate next steps, communicate with physicians and the care team, and document care in Epic.

What you’ll need

• Current Wisconsin RN license or eligibility through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact
• Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
• Current BLS or ability to obtain
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet driving requirements
• Strong assessment, communication and critical-thinking skills
• Ability to work independently and manage a field-based schedule
• Previous clinical nursing experience preferred
• Home Health or Hospice experience is a plus, but strong transferable nursing experience is also valuable

New to Home Health or Hospice?

Don’t rule yourself out. Experience in acute care, Med/Surg, cardiac, oncology, wound/ostomy, IV/infusion, rehab or other complex patient care can translate well to home-based nursing.
