The Vice President of Finance is ProHealth Care’s senior enterprise finance and performance leader. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this executive will shape financial strategy, strengthen organizational performance and help guide decisions that support responsible growth and long-term sustainability.
This highly visible role leads approximately 27 professionals, including seven direct reports, and oversees a broad portfolio spanning accounting, treasury, financial planning, reimbursement, physician compensation and enterprise decision support. The VP will serve as a trusted advisor to senior executives, physicians and operational leaders, translating complex financial information into clear recommendations and meaningful action.
What You Will Do
- Serve as a strategic advisor to the CFO and executive leadership on financial performance, enterprise risk, growth opportunities, resource allocation and long-term financial sustainability.
- Provide executive leadership for accounting and financial reporting, accounts payable, payroll, treasury, financial planning and decision support, budgeting and forecasting, cost accounting, service line profitability, charge integrity, reimbursement and physician compensation administration.
- Build a disciplined approach to enterprise performance management by identifying trends, risks and opportunities and partnering with leaders to improve financial and operational results.
- Lead annual operating and capital budgeting, quarterly forecasting and long-range financial planning aligned with organizational priorities and capital capacity.
- Oversee business plans, pro formas, ROI analyses and financial due diligence for new programs, technology investments, partnerships, acquisitions and joint ventures.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting while maintaining strong internal controls and oversight of audits, tax filings and regulatory requirements.
- Lead treasury strategy, including liquidity, cash flow, investments, debt, banking relationships, capital structure and related balance-sheet considerations.
- Provide executive oversight of Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, net patient revenue, charge integrity, pricing methodologies and applicable financial regulations.
- Oversee the financial administration and modeling of physician compensation in partnership with operational leadership, Human Resources, Legal and Compliance.
- Provide financial leadership and performance analysis for affiliated entities, subsidiaries, joint ventures and other enterprise business operations.
- Prepare and present clear, decision-ready financial analyses and recommendations to the Senior Executive Team, Board of Directors and Board committees.
- Advance Finance technology, analytics, automation and data governance while maintaining appropriate controls and data integrity.
- Develop and retain a high-performing Finance leadership team, strengthening accountability, engagement, succession readiness and cross-functional capability.
- Serve as a designee of the CFO and lead additional enterprise financial and operational priorities as organizational needs evolve.
What You Will Need:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field required.
- Master of Business Administration or related advanced degree preferred.
Experience
- Twelve or more years of progressively responsible health care finance experience within a hospital or integrated health system.
- Seven or more years of senior leadership experience, including responsibility for leading other leaders and complex financial functions.
- Broad experience across accounting and financial reporting, financial planning and forecasting, health care reimbursement, treasury, decision support and operational finance.
- Experience connecting financial results with clinical and operational drivers and translating analysis into clear recommendations and measurable outcomes.
- Senior finance leadership experience within a multi-entity health system that includes hospital, medical group and ambulatory operations strongly preferred.
- Experience with cost accounting, service line profitability, physician compensation, charge integrity or other specialized health care finance functions preferred.
- Experience presenting complex financial information to executives, physicians, boards or board committees.
Licensure and Certifications
- Certified Public Accountant certification strongly preferred.
- FHFMA, Certified Treasury Professional, Certified Management Accountant or another relevant professional certification preferred.
