Have you decided that becoming a Medical Assistant is the career path for you? ProHealth Care is committed to investing in future caregivers through our fully funded Medical Assistant Scholarship Program in partnership with Herzing University.
This approximately 10-month program combines online learning with hands-on clinical experience in ProHealth Medical Group primary care clinics. Upon successful completion, graduates will earn their Medical Assistant education, become certified, and transition into a Primary Care Medical Assistant position with ProHealth Medical Group.

What to Expect
Terms 1 & 2: Complete your coursework online through Herzing University. Courses focus on anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, patient care, pharmacology, infection prevention, medical office procedures, and electronic medical records.
Final 7 Weeks: Transition into paid clinical training within a ProHealth Medical Group primary care clinic. Working approximately 20 hours per week, you'll apply your classroom knowledge while learning directly from experienced Medical Assistants and providers. During this portion of the program, participants earn $18.97/hour.
After successfully completing the program and obtaining Medical Assistant certification, graduates transition into a Primary Care Medical Assistant position at a starting wage of $22.96/hour.

Program Commitment
Participants agree to successfully complete the program, obtain Medical Assistant certification, and commit to two years of employment in a Primary Care Medical Assistant position of 0.5 FTE or greater with ProHealth Medical Group following certification.

What You Will Do:
What You Will Do
As a Medical Assistant Scholarship participant, you’ll learn both in the classroom and on site at one of our ProHealth Medical Group clinics. You’ll gain hands-on experience supporting our providers and care teams while completing Herzing University’s Medical Assisting diploma program.
Throughout the program, you will:
Learn to assist with patient care, rooming, and vital signs
Support clinical procedures, documentation, and specimen collection
Provide exceptional service to patients and families in a Primary Care setting
Collaborate with providers, nurses, and clinic teams to support patient flow and safety
Develop strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills in a fast-paced clinic environment
Prepare for your national certification exam and transition into a Certified Medical Assistant role
This program provides the foundation for a lasting career in healthcare combining paid, real-world training with a fully funded education.
