Medical Assistant, EMT or LPN – Primary Care
Looking for a clinic role with variety and a schedule that offers some flexibility? Join ProHealth Care’s Waukesha South Clinic and support a busy Primary Care team caring for patients across a wide range of ages and healthcare needs.
This position offers a nice mix of consistency and variety. You’ll align with a provider one day each week, while the remainder of your schedule will focus on supporting Primary Care needs across the clinic.

Schedule
one 12 hour shift per week, one 8 hour shift per week, Flexible on which days are needed. Family Medicine and could cover Urgent Care as well.
This position will align with a provider one day per week and support broader Primary Care needs during the remainder of the schedule. We have flexibility in how the schedule is structured and are open to discussing options with candidates.
What you’ll do
As a Clinical Support Associate, you’ll play an important role throughout the patient visit and help keep the clinic running smoothly. Depending on your clinical background, training and scope, responsibilities may include:
- Room patients and prepare them for provider visits
- Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, medications and allergies
- Perform point-of-care testing and collect specimens as ordered
- Perform blood draws and support laboratory testing within scope and training
- Administer medications, injections and immunizations as appropriate to your role and scope
- Perform EKGs and other diagnostic testing as ordered
- Assist providers with examinations, minor procedures and treatments
- Support wound care, dressing changes and other hands-on clinical needs
- Review provider instructions and reinforce patient education
- Respond to patient phone calls, electronic messages and in-basket requests
- Support prescription-related requests, referrals, testing and follow-up needs
- Recognize changes or concerns in a patient’s condition and communicate them to the appropriate clinical team member
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation in the electronic medical record
- Prepare exam rooms, clean equipment and maintain clinical supplies
- Help manage changing patient volumes and priorities throughout the clinic day
- Partner with providers, nurses and fellow CSAs to support efficient patient flow and a positive patient experience
What you’ll need
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an approved Medical Assistant, EMT, LPN or equivalent clinical training program
- Appropriate certification, registration or licensure based on your clinical background and the requirements of the position
- BLS/CPR certification
- Previous clinical experience preferred
- Strong communication and patient-service skills
- Ability to stay organized and prioritize in an active Primary Care environment
- Comfort caring for patients with a wide range of ages and healthcare needs
- Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with providers, nurses and other members of the care team
- Comfort learning and using an electronic medical record; Epic experience is a plus
- Flexibility to respond to changing patient volumes and clinical priorities
- A patient-centered approach and interest in building relationships with patients and families

What You Will Do:
Provides direct care to patients under the supervision and delegation of the Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant or Physician within ProHealth Medical Group. Provides care in partnership with the patient and their family, with the goal of supporting an optimal healing community.
- Support ProHealth Care's Mission, Vision, and Values while adhering to the ProHealth Experience customer service goals.
- Efficiently prepare exam rooms by setting up proper equipment and supplies, following standard rooming workflows to prepare patients for provider exams, obtaining vital signs, health history verification, and ensuring accurate documentation in the EMR
- Clean exam rooms after each patient visit and maintain sufficient stock of supplies.
- Answer patient calls, obtain medical information, report test results, administer medications and vaccinations, prepare sterile fields, and assist with procedures as directed by providers.
- Perform therapeutic treatments, health screenings, specimen collection, Point of Care testing, and assist with splints or wound care under supervision.
- Respond to urgent situations, call for clinical assistance as needed, and assist in maintaining clinic medications, vaccinations, supplies, and equipment.
- Float to other departments or clinic locations as assigned by PHMG Leadership.
