We Are Hiring: Lactation Consultant - ProHealth Care- .8 FTE- Days
Schedule Details: This .8 FTE commits to 32 hours per week Every third weekend shifts required with holiday's off. Will see patients at both WMH and OMH in Labor & Delivery and NICU.This is not a seasonal or temporary position.
ProHealth Waukesha Memorial Hospital's Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is a 22-bed facility providing specialized care for critically ill and premature infants born as early as 22 weeks gestation. The NICU recently unveiled a comprehensive renovation emphasizing family-centered care, featuring fully equipped private rooms designed to accommodate families, including those with twins and triplets. The unit is staffed 24/7 by a dedicated team of neonatologists, neonatal nurse practitioners, and support staff, offering services such as transport, lactation consultation, and post-discharge follow-up clinics.
What You Will Do:
Provides support to the mother in breastfeeding their infant. Provision of in and out patient breastfeeding education, support and care. Management of telephone triage of breastfeeding phone calls, breast pump rental/sales and nursing bra fitting/sales as well as presentation of prenatal breastfeeding classes.
What You Will Need:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) with plan to take IBCLC exam
- Basic Life support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
- Preferred – International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)
