As a member of the healthcare team, the coding professional will support the importance of accurate, complete and consistent coding practice for the production of quality healthcare data. The Coder I should be proficient in coding at least two areas or different visit types or specialties. The Coder I will assist with the education of clinicians or providers by advocating proper documentation. The Coder I will strive for optimal reimbursement and will have the ability to float to different coding areas as needed.


This position can provide the opportunity to work from home after training is completed and requirements are met.



  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate Degree in a related field and/or education in medical coding required. Will consider experience and education in lieu of a degree.
  • Registered Health Information Tech (RHIT) or Certified Coding Associate (CCA) or  Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) required.
  • Experience in the outpatient coding area preferred.
  • Previous work experience in health information management preferred.
