Music Therapist - Inpatient Hospice .6 FTE Day & PM

Schedule: Typically 0800 to 1630 three days per week (M-F) with ability to vary into evening depending upon patient needs.

Part Time with Benefits

FTE: 0.60

The Music Therapist plans, creates, and conducts music therapy for hospice patients in their homes.  This individual participates in establishing a multidisciplinary plan of care and collaborates with and provides consultation to the other members of the hospice team.

 

Responsibilities include:

• Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment

• Instruct individual patients using instrumental, vocal or recorded music with goals to reduce physical symptoms of pain, agitation and shortness of breath

• Complete documentation following each visit

• Adjust care plan as needed

• Participate in team meetings

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in music therapy from an accredited institution approved by American Music Therapy Association
  • Board Certified as a Music Therapist by the Certification Board for Music Therapy required. Hospice and Palliative Care certified Music Therapist preferred
  • Must have valid driver's license, vehicle in good working order that is registered and active car insurance -- mileage reimbursement provided
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as interpersonal relations and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Previous experience with terminally ill patients and their families is highly desirable #LI-MO *CA
